NAISS, the National Academic Infrastructure for Supercomputing in Sweden, provides large-scale computing resources, storage, and data services for academic users. NAISS is a center formation with Linköping University as host and has 12 partner universities across Sweden. For more information about the position: https://liu.se/jobba-pa-liu/lediga-jobb/29609 Your Responsibilities As an application expert for AI training, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team developing the next generation of open language models. We are seeking several individuals with different competency profiles, and depending on your background, you will work with one or more parts of the development from data collection and data management to model training, evaluation, alignment, and development of tools for the models. The work encompasses the entire pipeline for large language models. You will contribute to the development of open foundation models for the Swedish language or models for scientific reasoning and programming, including evaluation and optimization for use within research, the public sector, and industry. Responsibilities also include developing large-scale data pipelines for collecting and processing text from data owners, government agencies, historical archives, web sources, and the project's partners. You will design, implement, and maintain distributed and automated systems for data collection, cleaning, quality filtering, text normalization, and efficient deduplication. You will also work with methods to ensure compliance, such as automatic identification and masking of personal data according to GDPR, as well as filtering of inappropriate or unwanted content. Your Qualifications Requirements for the position: Advanced degree in computer science, data engineering, computational linguistics, machine learning, technical physics, mathematics, or other relevant field, or equivalent documented experience. Very strong programming skills in Python and experience developing robust software and handling large text or data volumes. Experience with machine learning and development, training, fine-tuning, or evaluation of language models or other generative AI models. Very strong proficiency in both Swedish and English, spoken and written, as the work involves responsibility for curating and assessing the quality of Swedish-language source material.
