Do you want to work in one of the fastest-growing markets in the green energy transition — and help build the energy systems of the future? Our client is growing rapidly in energy storage and is now seeking an Application Engineer who wants to be part of their expanding technical team in Stockholm. Here you'll work close to real projects, international suppliers, and large-scale battery facilities that enable the expansion of solar and wind power in the Nordic region.
About the role:
In energy storage, our client operates as an EPC provider (turnkey contractor) — they design, procure, and deliver complete battery installations to customers throughout the Nordic region. They don't manufacture the systems themselves but are responsible for the whole picture: technology, integration, delivery, and functionality. The market for energy storage is growing rapidly globally, and they have recently secured several major projects — which is why they now need to strengthen their engineering team. You'll be part of an application engineering team and work broadly with the technology behind large-scale energy storage. The Application Engineer role combines technical project support with system development and supplier collaboration. This is a role for someone who wants to understand the entire system, not just a single component.
What makes this role unique?
You'll work in one of the energy industry's hottest growth areas with a holistic perspective on large energy systems. You'll collaborate with world-leading suppliers and get rapid competency development — 1 year in the industry can equal several years of experience in traditional industry. You'll join a small growing team with significant influence, in an international work environment, with approximately 50 travel days globally per year. No two days are the same and you'll work in a dynamic environment.
Your main responsibilities:
1. Technical support in project deliveries
Support project managers with technical expertise
Prepare and manage technical documentation and drawings
Work with: single line diagrams, site layouts, communication and system drawings
Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests at suppliers globally
Technical support on-site during installation and commissioning
2. System and application development
Further develop the portfolio of energy storage solutions
Collaborate with international sub-suppliers
Optimize system design and dimensioning of battery storage
Work with grid requirements and grid codes
Develop internal technical tools and working methods
You'll work closely with technical leads and over time be able to take technical responsibility for your own projects
We're looking for you with:
A degree in electrical engineering or power engineering from a higher education institution or technical university
At least 1 year of work experience with similar tasks
Basic understanding of electrical power systems
Fluent spoken and written Swedish and English, as both languages are used in daily work
Meritorious:
2-5 years of experience with similar tasks
Experience from electrical power, energy, solar, wind, or battery systems
AutoCAD or similar CAD tools
As a person, we see that you are independent, curious, and solution-oriented. You thrive in a dynamic environment with high pace where you want to learn quickly and take responsibility. You enjoy the variety between technology, projects, and collaboration. This is not a heavily process-driven industrial environment — the position suits you if you like building something new.
