The Medication Unit currently has over 30 employees. The majority of us are pharmacists, but we also have other professional categories employed in the unit. Our mission is to promote safe, appropriate, and cost-effective medication use and supply, as well as to provide operational and strategic support to healthcare operations. Organizationally, we are placed under hospital care and geographically we are located at the hospital in Växjö, but our mission covers the entire Kronoberg region.
The assignments for the medication unit fall within three main processes: medication supply, medication use, and care-related medication support. Within these processes we work with, among other things:
hospital pharmacy functions with in-house supply, preparation of chemotherapy and radiopharmaceuticals, IV carts, medication services and maintenance of medication dispensers, emergency stockpiles, participation in medical committees/medication committees, medication recommendations, information and training, monitoring and analysis of medication use, medication reviews, clinical pharmacy, ward preparation, referrals/medication questions, and patient education.

WORK DUTIES
The position is focused on clinical pharmacy within both primary care and inpatient care. We have established collaborations with several clinics and also work with medication reviews in municipal home care services.
Work duties include, among other things, medication reconciliation and medication reviews, patient consultations, educational initiatives, and support with questions concerning medication handling. The work also includes handling medication-related questions and referrals from healthcare, as well as close collaboration with colleagues working on medication services and ward preparation in healthcare units.
The position can be adapted to some extent based on your competency and experience and may be developed based on operational needs. Depending on your background and the region's priorities, you may also work with other tasks within the medication unit. You will collaborate with pharmacists and other professional groups both within the unit and in other parts of healthcare in Region Kronoberg.
Assignment may be relevant at both of our hospitals in Växjö and Ljungby.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who are a licensed pharmacist or licensed pharmacy technician with a master's degree in pharmacy and who have a strong interest in medication issues within healthcare.
We would appreciate if you have a master's degree in clinical pharmacy, or alternatively equivalent experience that the employer deems equivalent.
After an introductory period, you are expected to work independently and take responsibility for planning your work in dialogue with your manager and colleagues. You are proactive, structured, and have good collaboration skills in different settings. You enjoy varied work tasks and have good flexibility. Furthermore, you have the ability to apply your competency in a way that creates value for both healthcare and patients. You express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities.
