As a senior system owner for IT/OT infrastructure at Trafikverket Färjerederiet, you will help facilitate everyday life for residents and businesses across Sweden. You do this by contributing to the infrastructure of the future.
Swedish maritime is undergoing significant changes. At Trafikverket Färjerederiet, we are undergoing a transformation process toward electrification, climate adaptation, and digitalization that will affect our approximately 70 ferries, 750 employees, and our 22 million passengers. Trafikverket Färjerederiet wants to be at the forefront and drive development toward more sustainable and smart solutions. Through our long-term plan, Vision 45, we are working to achieve carbon-neutral ferry operations by 2045. Electrification of the fleet is an important part of this journey, but also the development of smart solutions that strengthen operations, safety, and efficiency. To reach our goals, we are now strengthening the organization with a system owner for IT/OT infrastructure who ensures an efficient and manageable infrastructure.
Responsibilities
As system owner for IT/OT infrastructure, you are the central point of responsibility for the digital infrastructure, from need to delivery. You have overall responsibility for the service lifecycle, which includes the vessels' digital infrastructure, control systems, OT networks, simulator, digital twin, ROC, and associated IT and cybersecurity functions. You are responsible for ensuring a cohesive, standardized, and sustainably manageable digital infrastructure for the entire ferry fleet. This means ensuring controlled version management between vessels, high operational availability throughout the lifecycle, and ensuring that deliverables meet Trafikverket's requirements, applicable regulations, and strategic objectives. In this role, you bridge maritime management governance with technical development, IT, OT, operational activities, suppliers, and regulatory compliance. The role is not coordinating but rather a senior governance function with clear responsibility for governance, results, and budget. You have the mandate to make decisions within the decided roadmap and budget, including change management, technical baseline, patch strategy, supplier management, and lifecycle activities. The role carries strategic responsibility where you translate business objectives into technical governance and ensure that development, management, and cybersecurity are conducted in a coordinated and long-term manner across the entire ferry fleet.
Your responsibilities will include:
Responsibility for technical baseline and configuration management
Develop and maintain the long-term roadmap
Responsibility for budget and prioritization
Lead Change Advisory Board (CAB)
Ensure cybersecurity and regulatory compliance
Responsibility for supplier management and SLA
Report risks, status, and deviations to management
Monitor developments in relevant technology and regulatory areas
Plan and drive retroactive harmonization of vessel series
The role is central to ensuring that Färjerederiet's digital infrastructure develops uniformly, securely, and sustainably across the entire ferry fleet lifecycle.
Qualifications
You need to thrive in a role with significant responsibility where you are expected to lead cross-functionally and set direction for the future of maritime. You are flexible, self-driven, and have strong ability to collaborate and build relationships internally with colleagues, managers, and external stakeholders.
You combine strategic overview with deep technical understanding and have the ability to make decisions on complex issues with many stakeholders. You are clear and structured in communication with management and operations and have a strong ability to build cross-functional collaboration without formal line authority. You have high integrity and ability to manage a complex risk landscape and are driven by building conditions for manageability and long-term sustainability.
We are looking for you who
have a university degree in a relevant field or other experience and education that Trafikverket considers equivalent
have understanding of IT/OT integration in production-critical operational environments
have experience with system management and lifecycle governance for complex environments
have knowledge of cybersecurity: NIS2, IEC 62443, ISO/IEC 27001
have the ability to own and communicate technical roadmap to management
have a driver's license
It is meritorious if you
have experience with complex supplier management and contract complexity
have experience with ITIL and Change Advisory Board (CAB)
have experience with budget responsibility or financial management
have many years of experience from critical infrastructure
have experience with strategic system management
have experience with maritime operations
have experience with digital twins
have experience with OT security
