Would you like to be part of developing the electricity grid of the future and contribute to a smooth connection process for our customers? We are now looking for a dedicated Connection Engineer for our local grid with a focus on new connections and change requests. About the Role As a Connection Engineer, you will work with planning, preparing, and following up on connections to the electricity grid. You have a central role in dialogue with customers, contractors, and internal functions, ensuring that each connection is carried out efficiently, correctly, and with high quality. The work includes both new connections and modifications to existing installations, meaning you handle the entire process – from request to completed connection. You will be part of a team of eight colleagues, where tasks both overlap and differ depending on the case and area of responsibility. Your responsibilities include: Handle incoming connection requests and changes to the electricity grid Prepare quotes, connection documents, technical solutions, and cost estimates Coordinate and communicate with customers, contractors, and internal resources Ensure that work complies with applicable regulations, internal principles, and standards Follow up on projects and contribute to improvement of work processes Establish internal processes, quality documents, and manage support systems, etc. The role includes standby duty at Ystad Energi due to critical infrastructure operations. Obligation to participate in emergency preparedness is included in the position. Working hours are daytime 08:00-17:00 with flexible hours. What We Are Looking For You have technical expertise in electricity grids and thrive in a role where both technology and customer contact are in focus. To succeed in this role, you have: Relevant post-secondary education in electrical power, preparation, design, or experience that the employer deems equivalent Several years of experience working with electricity grids, preferably within local grids or connection processes Good understanding of regulations and standards in power distribution, particularly within regulations and standards Ability to work in a structured manner and drive matters independently Class B driver's license It is advantageous if you have good knowledge of connection regulations, connection fees, and non-concession-based grids. As a person, you are service-oriented, have a talent for collaboration, and are solution-focused. You are confident in dialogue with customers and can explain technical solutions in a clear and trustworthy manner. You enjoy meeting and collaborating with customers and partners and have a professional approach. You like both maintaining what works and contributing to developing and improving working methods. District heating, fossil-free since 2019 with approx. 2,100 customers, transfers 145 GWh of district heating and produces district heating with renewable fuels. Ystad Energi also owns and maintains Ystad Municipality's street lighting.
