About the Workplace At our adapted primary school, approximately 60 students in grades 1-9 study with us. We have students who study both traditional subjects and subject areas. Various professional groups work at the adapted primary school, including student assistants/recreational staff, special education teachers, and special education specialists. Together, we work to ensure that every student's entire school day is safe with a focus on academic development. Job Responsibilities We are looking for you with a strong interest in people and the ability to build good relationships. As a student assistant in an adapted primary school, you will work during school hours and recreational time, based on each student's individual development and needs. Students have significant care needs and require support in various situations throughout the entire school day. You will implement and develop student learning together with your team and share responsibility with colleagues for planning and managing recreational activities. The work is physically demanding and includes care responsibilities. As staff at an adapted primary school, you are expected to be outdoors daily and participate in activities such as nature walks, floor games, and swimming at public pools. You are involved in students' ADL (activities of daily living) and need to be able to use lifts, various physical aids, and tube feeding. Qualifications We see that you have experience working with students who need AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) and have the ability to interpret social interactions and signals from students. We also see that you are a role model for adults, and are calm and trustworthy with a professional and low-affect approach. You have completed upper secondary education with a focus on children and recreation or care and support, or other education or experience the employer deems equivalent. We would like to see experience working with TAKK (signs as augmentative and alternative communication). It is advantageous if you have completed student assistant training and should have experience working with people with intellectual and physical disabilities. You have a strong interest in people and the ability to build good relationships. You are flexible, solution-oriented, and responsive to students' individual needs. You must be calm and pedagogical with great patience and the ability to create security for each student. You need to be clear in your actions. Experience working in recreational centers is advantageous. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. We are seeking people who can be flexible and work as substitute staff, both for last-minute morning calls and for planned assignments.
