At AniCura Kalmarsunds Djursjukhus we work closely together with a shared focus – to provide the best possible care and service to both animals and their owners. We are approximately 100 employees and together we are passionate about animal healthcare and its development.
We offer services within emergency care, neurology, surgery, orthopedics, diagnostic imaging, and medical investigations. Kalmarsunds Djursjukhus is a referral center to which many patients are referred from other animal clinics and animal hospitals. We have an emergency reception open every day of the year between 08:00-22:00 and we have inpatients on our care ward 24/7.
About the Job
You work independently but in close collaboration with the night veterinarian and handle both planned care and acute situations, with a focus on providing patients with the right care at the right time. The role also includes contact with animal owners, where you inform, guide, and can create calm in a safe and professional manner. You are responsible for thorough documentation and secure shift handover to ensure patient safety during shift changes. The work is characterized by variety, responsibility, and close collaboration with your colleagues.
Your responsibilities include:
· Care of inpatient animals
· Assisting with examinations and treatments
· Sample collection and certain medical procedures
· Customer contact and support to animal owners
· Administrative work and record writing
· Hygiene work
At the animal hospital you have the opportunity to work in an inspiring and developing environment where no two days are the same. Collaboration, good communication, and strong team spirit are key factors in our work. The position is assigned to the night shift. At full-time employment, you are covered by working time reduction, which means an average weekly working time of 34 hours.
Who We Are Seeking
You are a Level 3 animal care technician with a few years of work experience and thrive in a role where you get to take responsibility and work independently, while also being a natural part of the team throughout the night. We believe you have confidence in clinical work and the ability to quickly switch between planned activities and unexpected situations.
We believe that you:
· Have an interest in emergency care and like to be where the action is.
· Are confident in your professional role and dare to make decisions.
· Have good observation skills and notice details that are critical to the patient.
· Are solution-oriented.
· Communicate clearly and warmly, both with colleagues and animal owners.
· Speak and write Swedish fluently.
And perhaps most importantly: you thrive in a night work environment where both independence and collaboration are essential.
