Family support is a legally mandated service that must be available in all municipalities. As a Family Support Consultant in Ljusdal Municipality, you will be part of the Authority and Health Promotion division, and your unit placement will be in the new "Preventive" department, which also includes the Rehabilitation Organization, Safe Discharge Home, Cognitive Support Team, and Elderly Consultant. Responsibilities In your role as Family Support Consultant, you are responsible for providing support to family members through both individual and group-based interventions. You conduct individual conversations in a safe environment where family members have the opportunity to share their situation and needs. You plan and lead discussion groups for family members in similar situations, with a focus on creating opportunities for experience sharing and mutual support. Further, you provide information and guidance through lectures and training programs directed at family members. You also guide family members to other resources and partner organizations, such as social services and health centers. The position also involves supporting the municipality's own care staff in their interactions with family members, for example through training and lectures. You will also collaborate with external organizations such as senior citizen associations, interest groups, and religious organizations through presentations and talks. The work is independent and gives you the opportunity to develop the service in various directions. Qualifications For this position, you must have a degree in social work or alternatively hold another education in behavioral science, psychology, or social work that provides knowledge of people's needs and behaviors. You have knowledge of how to interact with people in need of support, how to help family members move forward in finding and using their own resources and setting boundaries, and you have good knowledge of which partners you need to collaborate with to progress in your work. We also see that you have ideas about future working methods and contribute to the development of the service, and that you have previous experience speaking in front of small and large groups and are comfortable doing so. Good computer skills are also required for this position. As a person, you need to be calm and composed and have a strong interest in working with people, as well as a great capacity for patience, flexibility, and empathy, as each meeting is unique. You will work under confidentiality and need to understand the importance of that. Previous experience working with family members is a merit. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
