Job Responsibilities
As an anesthesia nurse, you will have a primary placement and work at one of the operating department's units. You have great opportunities to become a specialist within your home section and take responsibility for your own area of responsibility based on your own interests and competence. With us, you can broaden your knowledge and rotate across all our units, with the possibility to also rotate to pre- and post-operative departments.
The position includes working at external units when anesthesiological assistance is needed. The anesthesia nurse is part of the hospital's emergency response chain and accompanies patient ambulance transports to other hospitals requiring a different level of care. You will be part of the team around the patient together with nursing assistants, operating room nurses, and physicians.

Work Hours
We offer work in our 24/7 operation with a time-value model of 37 hours per week. Region Västmanland also provides increased compensation for inconvenient working hours for nurses, midwives, radiographers, and biomedical analysts.
Development Opportunities
We value internal and external training, simulation exercises, trauma drills, and our employees have a higher proportion of training time than the average in the administration and other regions.
About the Workplace
The Operating Clinic is responsible for all surgical care in Västmanland. Parts of the day surgery operations are conducted at the hospital in Köping. More extensive surgery, both emergency and elective, takes place in Västerås. The surgical operations consist of general surgery, urology, gynecology, robotic surgery, orthopedics, vascular surgery, and otolaryngology. There are a total of 23 operating rooms at the clinic, of which four are in Köping and 18 in Västerås.

Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse and have specialist nurse education focused on anesthesia care. If you are nearing the end of your specialist education, you are also welcome to apply. It is an asset if you have previously worked as an anesthesia nurse in an operating department, but it is not a requirement. If you have also worked in the journal systems Cosmic or Orbit, we consider that a merit. Since our work is often governed by documents in Swedish, you need to have good language skills, both spoken and written.
You who apply are secure and stable as a person. We see that you plan and structure your work, as well as that you can quickly reprioritize and adapt to changed circumstances when the situation requires it. You have a good ability to collaborate with others by listening and communicating in a clear and constructive way.
