About the Position Pediatric Surgery is part of Function Child within Perioperative Medicine and Intensive Care at Karolinska University Hospital in Huddinge. Both elective and acute surgical operations for children and adolescents are performed here. Beyond the usual tasks for an anesthesia nurse, we offer a workplace where you daily contribute to safe and secure care for both patients and their families. The work is characterized by a family-centered approach where communication and trust are central elements. The operations are varied and include several surgical areas such as ear, nose, and throat surgery, some general surgery, some orthopedics, as well as medical and diagnostic examinations and procedures such as gastro- and colonoscopies, CT and MRI examinations, and vascular access procedures. Work takes place in both elective and acute flows in the operating room and also externally, which means variation in pace and work content. In this position, there is also the opportunity on certain days to work in our pediatric recovery area to care for patients both before and after surgery/anesthesia.
