The Role of Ambulance Paramedic As an ambulance paramedic, you have varied work where no two days are the same. You work together with a nurse who has basic or specialist training. Together, you assess and treat patients at home, at the scene of an incident, and during transport to a care facility. You also perform patient transfers between different care facilities, both within and outside the county. As a member of the ambulance services team, you have access to advanced equipment such as defibrillators, mechanical chest compression devices, and a range of medications. In your daily work, you meet all types of patients of varying ages, where your work involves providing good and safe patient care based on the patient's needs. The position we are offering is a full-time temporary contract for 6 months with the possibility of extension. The desired start date is October 26 or by agreement. You have at least two years of experience in somatic healthcare, and experience in ambulance services is an advantage. You are an experienced driver and have a driver's license with at least category B and emergency response driver training. It is advantageous if you also have category C1 license. It is important that you have good physical fitness and physical capacity, for both your and the patient's sake. We would like to see that you are familiar with the Rakel communication system. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability. Working in ambulance services also requires personal maturity and good judgment. It is important that you are confident in making your own decisions in your work. The work also involves close teamwork, so you need to have a good ability to collaborate with other people and communicate clearly. As you meet patients and their families, it is very important that you have an empathetic approach and good interpersonal skills.
