The Faculty of Medicine is one of the largest faculties at Umeå University and attracts many students with an extensive range of programs in the areas of medicine, dentistry, health, and care. The Department of Medical and Translational Biology conducts teaching in, among other programs, the Medical Program. We are now seeking 16 teaching assistants to participate in histology instruction within the Medical Program. Duties The main duties consist of teaching and supervising histology demonstrations and practical exercises. Eligibility Employment as a teaching assistant according to the Higher Education Ordinance, Chapter 5. Those eligible for employment as a teaching assistant are students admitted to education at the basic or advanced level at a university or college (HF Chapter 5 §10). Qualifications Applicants must have completed all courses in the Medical Program up to and including the course "Structure and Function of Organ Systems," 46.5 credits. Previous work experience as a histology teaching assistant is meritorious. Terms We are now seeking 16 teaching assistants for Spring Term 2027. The position corresponds to 10% employment for 4 months by agreement with the supervising teacher. The employment is to be conducted in parallel with studies.
