The Faculty of Technology and Health Sciences provides education and research within technology, health, and information design with a clear focus on societal challenges. Our research is conducted in close collaboration with external partners, nationally and internationally, and contributes to knowledge development and innovation. Through our collaboration platforms, we bring together academia, the public sector, and industry to jointly drive knowledge development and strengthen the relevance of research and education. Education at all levels is research-based and clearly linked to society's and the labor market's needs. Together we contribute to sustainable societal development. Within the faculty there are three institutions where approximately 500 people work. At the Department of Health Science, Innovation and Design, education is provided related to various professions within health and care. Additionally, education is offered in public health, innovation, and information design. The department conducts strong and applied research that addresses societally important problems. Research and education are developed in collaboration with the public sector, industry, and civil society to provide students with current knowledge for their future professional lives. The Society Contract The Society Contract is a partnership between Mälardalen University, Västerås Municipality, and Eskilstuna Municipality where we explore and address complex societal challenges together with other societal actors. Employment Information Employment type: Fixed-term employment Employment period/Start date: Approximately 3 months Scope: 20% Number of positions: 1 Application deadline: 2026-09-25 Work location: Västerås Institution/Unit/Department: Health Science, Innovation and Design Job Responsibilities We are looking for you to work, under supervision, contributing visualizations to the Society Contract's internal learning process. You will start by familiarizing yourself with the work and reviewing existing materials. You will then help process and develop existing models, tools, and materials within our graphic profile. Your job responsibilities: Review existing materials Help sort and compile content Participate in meetings and discussions related to the work Create and process simple visualizations Help develop existing models and materials Present and discuss your work together with the working group Qualifications/Requirements Only those admitted to education at basic or advanced level at MDU can be employed as a research assistant. Employment as a research assistant is regulated in the Higher Education Ordinance 5 ch § 8-12. We would like you to be a student in information design or other education relevant to the assignment. We are looking for you who are interested in visual communication, appreciate collaboration, and want the opportunity to apply knowledge from your education in practice. You have very good knowledge of Swedish. Experience in project work, information design, graphic or visual communication, and iterative development work with others is a merit for the position. Furthermore, experience in developing models, process diagrams, handbooks, or other educational materials, as well as experience in compiling and visualizing complex information, is desirable. Particular emphasis is placed on the ability to understand complex processes and make them understandable and usable through clear structure and visualization. In an overall assessment of suitability, personal qualities are also weighted. We are looking for you who are structured, analytical, and pedagogical, as well as having a strong interest in visual communication. The assignments require independence and initiative but also good collaboration skills since the material is developed together with others. You need to be receptive to feedback, be able to work iteratively, and have the ability to switch between understanding the big picture and working carefully with details.
