Student Assistant for work at the Faculty of Law Online Courses Office The Department of Law is seeking student assistants to work with the faculty's online-based independent courses. Qualification Profile According to Chapter 5, Section 10 of the Higher Education Ordinance, only those admitted to studies at the basic or advanced level may be employed as a student assistant. What We Offer Lund University is a state authority and offers good employment terms. As a student assistant, you will have the opportunity to combine your studies with work, complementing your theoretical knowledge with practical work experience within academia. Read more on the university website about working with us. Duties The duties consist of working with the faculty's online-based independent courses, which are aimed at students without prior legal experience. The duties include grading students' exercises and providing support and advice to students via email and telephone. Additional responsibilities include maintaining and producing course content as well as course administration. Approximately 40 student assistants work in the office, and you will work in a smaller team and be gradually trained in your duties by your colleagues. You will also work closely with the instructors who oversee and examine the courses. Qualifications To be eligible for employment as a student assistant, you must be an active student at the basic or advanced level at the relevant faculty and have not yet completed your degree. Requirements for employment are that you must be an active student in the law program at terms 4, 5, or 6. You must be on track with your studies and have a grade point average of at least 1.5. The reason for this is that we want to ensure you can perform the work without it interfering with your studies. You must have very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, as the work largely consists of assessing and commenting on students' assignments and communicating with students via telephone, email, or in person. For the same reason, you must have strong analytical skills and customer service orientation, be quality-conscious, and be able to communicate in a clear and pedagogical manner. The work requires that you are independent and have the ability to plan, so you can manage the varying workload effectively. At the same time, you must be a flexible team player with good collaboration skills – you and the other student assistants with the same duties have significant shared responsibility for distributing work tasks among yourselves and for maintaining consistency in grading students' assignments. You must also be able to cooperate with instructors and other staff. We place great importance on personal suitability. 1.5 grade point average is calculated as follows: Grade B corresponds to 1 grade point, grade BA corresponds to 2 grade points, and grade AB corresponds to 3 grade points. The number of credit hours for each completed course is multiplied by the grade points of the achieved grade. The grade points are summed and then divided by the total number of earned credit hours. The calculated average must be at least 1.5. Terms Start date is 2026-11-17 or by agreement. The employment is time-limited until 2026-01-17 but there is good opportunity for extension. You should be able to stay until 2028-01-16. How to Apply Applications are submitted through Lund University's recruitment system. Your application must include a CV and references to two referees. We welcome your application! The Faculty of Law is one of Lund University's four original faculties. The faculty has approximately 2,000 students at the basic and advanced levels and about 160 employees, of which about 40 are doctoral students. More information about the faculty is available on our website www.jur.lu.se We request that all contact from advertising sales companies, recruitment agencies, and staffing companies be refrained from due to state procurement regulations.
