Description
Älvegårdsskolan adapted primary school is a small grades 1-9 school where students study both subjects and subject areas. This fall we are starting with two classes and are therefore looking for you as a student assistant who wants to be part of developing our operations.
The school is located between sea and forest in Torslanda, surrounded by beautiful natural areas. Älvegårdsskolan adapted primary school is part of the Hisingen 12 school district, which also includes the nearby Lillebyskolan.
In the school district, the management team consists of a principal and two assistant principals. Around our students is a large staff group – teachers and student assistants. There is also a student health team with a school nurse, psychologist, counselor, and special education teacher.
When the school is fully developed in a few years, it will consist of 5 classes for students with intellectual disabilities.
Job Responsibilities
As a student assistant, your task is to prevent and bridge difficulties that the student encounters during the school day and at the after-school program. You are a pedagogical, social, physical, and psychological support for the student together with the teacher and work team in order to facilitate the student's knowledge, self-confidence, and sense of responsibility.
Work with us requires close collaboration with students' guardians, colleagues, and other external actors who are important for students' health and development.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have upper secondary education with further education in this field. You have at least 6 months of experience working in adapted primary school and experience working with children with intellectual disabilities and autism diagnosis. You have good knowledge of AAC. Formal education in this area is considered a merit for the position.
As a person, you have the ability to work together with others to perform tasks and reach goals. You show respect and consideration for those you meet in your professional role. You base your approach on the equal value of all and create a good atmosphere in encounters. You adapt easily to changing conditions and new information. Furthermore, you are calm and confident in stressful and difficult situations.
