We are now seeking a youth medicine-engaged physician with a strong interest in both medical and psychosocial issues for the Youth Clinic in Helsingborg. Together, we create a safe place where young people dare to ask questions, receive support, and grow. This role suits you if you appreciate medical assessments but also want to work more preventively, relationally, and long-term with young people. Here you have the opportunity to meet patients in a context where health promotion, conversations, and collaboration are a natural part of everyday work, in close cooperation with an experienced interdisciplinary team. Youth Clinic (UM) in Scania consists of ten physical clinics as well as UM Scania Online, where midwives, nurses, and counselors meet patients via video calls. The operation is organized in five areas, each with its own unit manager under a common operational manager. UM in Helsingborg forms a unit together with the clinic in Ängelholm, where an engaged interdisciplinary team consisting of counselors, midwives, nurses, nursing assistants, and physicians work together. Our target group is young people aged 12 to 24 years. Our mission is to work preventively and health-promoting in areas such as sexual health, unwanted pregnancies, sexually transmitted diseases, and physical and mental health issues. JOB DUTIES As a physician at UM Scania, you work in a patient-centered and development-oriented operation where the youth perspective is always at the center. You meet young people with different needs and life situations in a safe, inclusive, and accessible setting, where medical assessments are combined with conversations and counseling. The work encompasses medical issues within, among other things, sexual and reproductive health, andrology, sexually transmitted infections, contraceptive counseling, and psychosocial issues. You work from a youth-centered, norm-aware, and inclusive approach, with the goal of strengthening young people's health, participation, and empowerment. You are an important part of an experienced interdisciplinary team where medical issues are discussed and handled in close cooperation with midwives, nurses, counselors, and other professionals. Teamwork is a central part of the mission and offers good opportunities for knowledge exchange, joint assessments, and a holistic perspective on young people's needs. The role also includes participating in the continued development of the operation through improvement and quality work as well as joint reflections on working methods and interactions. You will have good opportunities to be involved in shaping routines, working methods, and structures going forward. The position is placed within Youth Clinic Scania with primary placement at the Youth Clinic in Helsingborg. Together with the clinic in Ängelholm, you form a shared unit. The position may also involve service at other clinics in Scania according to operational needs. We welcome positions of at least 50 percent, and we are open to discussing your employment level based on operational needs and your preferences. QUALIFICATIONS As an applicant, you are a licensed physician authorized to work within Swedish healthcare and have specialist training in general medicine or in pediatrics and adolescent medicine. Furthermore, you have Swedish language skills corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale and feel comfortable meeting young people in conversations about both medical and psychosocial issues. We consider it a merit if you have previously worked with young people.
