Job Responsibilities As an Activity Coordinator, you coordinate activities at meeting places for seniors in the city. Since the operations strive for continuous development, you will need to think innovatively, plan, structure, and market both existing and new activities. An important focus area going forward is to promote technology use, with the task of including seniors in digital development. You lead and participate in activities and contribute to social interaction with visitors. An important task for the Activity Coordinator is to motivate seniors to participate in health-promoting activities to maintain independence and quality of life. An important part of the work is to utilize seniors' resources and encourage voluntary efforts. The meeting places work flexibly and mobile to reach more seniors in different arenas. The operations must be able to meet seniors where they are; this requires good collaboration with other municipal activities, associations, and organizations. Some of the city's meeting places collaborate with other administrations, which means working with a larger target group and conducting certain activities together. Qualifications For this position, post-secondary leisure activities instructor education or equivalent, as assessed by the employer, is required. Education and courses in health-promoting work and knowledge of the Finnish language are merits. We are looking for someone with experience planning, developing, and coordinating group activities, preferably with a focus on adults/seniors. Computer skills and good physical fitness are required for the work. Professional experience with health-promoting activities in various forms is a merit. You are initiative-driven and have the ability to inspire and engage people. You have a genuine interest in technology and a pedagogical approach. You can independently manage and plan your work and value good relationships and collaboration with colleagues and other partners. The position requires a salutogenic approach with a strong focus on strengthening and maintaining wellness. Since Borås City is part of the Finnish administrative area, it is highly meritorious if you have knowledge of the Finnish language. The position requires a driver's license. Travel and inconvenient working hours may occur.
