Landscape Architect

Valmiera Municipality (hereinafter – Municipality) invites applications for the position of Landscape Architect in the Territory and Urban Planning Division of the Development Department for a fixed-term position. Work location: Lāčplēša iela 2, Valmiera. If you have the desire to: - ensure research, analysis, development, preservation, restoration, and management of landscapes, public and private outdoor spaces, and plantings; - participate in developing concepts for public outdoor space improvements and plantings and oversee their implementation; - participate in preparing work specifications for Municipality construction projects, improvements, and greening projects, and oversee their implementation; - develop and ensure the implementation of landscape quality principles in the Municipality's administrative territory; - develop projects for restoration or reconstruction of culturally and historically significant and degraded landscapes and territories, develop compositional layouts and spatial structures of landscapes and public spaces, functional and compositional solutions for territory improvements and plantings, technical solutions, working drawings, and specifications; - consult, review, and provide assessments to designers, construction process participants, and residents on matters of landscape, territory improvement, and planting creation and preservation; - serve on a tree assessment commission. and if you have: - second-level professional or academic higher education in landscape architecture or territory planning; - experience in urban environment and territory planning of at least one year; - state language proficiency at an advanced level; - knowledge of one official language of an EU member state for communication with foreign representatives who do not speak the state language; - competencies: ability to make independent decisions, analytical abilities, good communication and interpersonal skills, high sense of responsibility, precision, initiative, creativity; ability to work in a team, correctness in relationships with people; - good computer skills (MS Office) and office equipment operation; - desirable: Category B driver's license. we offer: - opportunities for implementing work and ideas in a development-oriented Municipality; - stable salary (corresponding to salary group 10 from 1483 EUR to 1605 EUR, according to individual employee evaluation); - employer co-financed health insurance and other benefits in accordance with work results and regulatory requirements; - opportunities for professional development and growth; - safe and well-maintained work environment.
