Are you ready for a significant challenge? The Swedish Police Authority is Sweden's largest government agency with approximately 40,000 employees throughout the country. Police Region South is organized into five police districts: Blekinge northeastern Scania, Kalmar Kronoberg, Malmö, northwestern Scania and southern Scania, which together are divided into 20 local police districts. Furthermore, there are six regional units: the operational unit, the intelligence unit, the investigation unit and the border police unit, business-related HR South, communication South, a regional office, and national departments that are represented in the region to support police operations. The Regional IT Crime Center, RC3, is located at the Regional Investigation Unit, RUE. RUE is responsible together with the police districts for the region's investigation activities. At the regional investigation unit, environmental and occupational health crimes, IT crimes, fraud cases, and serious organized crime that is transnational are investigated. The region's forensic work, crime coordination function, task forces, victim and personal security work as well as regional surveillance and technical surveillance are also organized here. The Regional IT Crime Center's mission is to support the region with IT expertise, which we do by helping investigators with IT elements in their investigations, conducting IT-forensic evidence preservation from digital media as well as internet data collection. We also investigate our own complex cybercrime cases in the department as well as internet-related sexual offenses against children. The Regional IT Crime Center has IT-forensic operations in Kalmar, Växjö, Karlskrona, Kristianstad, Helsingborg, Lund and Malmö. We are now seeking administrators with placement in Lund, Malmö, Helsingborg and Kristianstad. Job Description With us you will work with seized devices containing digital data storage, which mainly involves securing data. For this position you work in preliminary investigations together with investigators and prosecutors. In addition to this, you may need to work with repair of damaged devices to enable extraction, for example replacing a screen on a mobile phone or replacing a component in a device. The work also includes documentation of seized items and completed tasks. The rapid technological development in society is a special challenge for IT-forensic operations and it also places demands on your interest and curiosity about new technology. At the Regional IT Crime Center, we have shared responsibility for the department's case flow and this may mean that as an administrator you support other tasks occurring in the department. Qualifications This is an opportunity for you who have: Completed upper secondary education with a technical focus, or alternatively other upper secondary education and experience that the agency considers relevant At least 1 year of work experience where you have worked broadly within IT Very good skills to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish Good skills to express yourself in speech and writing in English Category B driver's license Swedish citizenship It is meritorious if you also have: Good experience navigating and configuring mobile devices based on iOS and Android Experience with component replacement in mobile devices and computers where you have for example performed basic troubleshooting Experience with IT-forensic work Knowledge of other languages in addition to Swedish and English that the agency considers relevant Personal Qualities The work tasks require that you are structured and thorough in documentation and have high social competence and ability to cooperate. This can include people who have been victims of crimes, for example documented abuse. Therefore, it is important that you are secure, stable and can handle such material, and that you do not have difficulties talking about your experiences with colleagues and managers.
