AcadeMedia is now seeking a centrally employed school librarian for Praktiska Gymnasiet in Luleå. As a centrally employed librarian, you will staff the library at the school. At the same time, you will receive professional development and collegial learning opportunities with other school librarians within the organization. About the Position You will lead and develop the school library at Praktiska Gymnasiet in Luleå, a smaller school with diverse vocational programs and a strong student focus. Based on AcadeMedia's school library plan, you will work with language development, lead the library council, and collaborate with staff on information literacy and reading promotion initiatives. You will create a safe and inclusive environment, support the school's work on democracy and values, and ensure a relevant and up-to-date book collection. You will be employed centrally in the organization and will receive a mentor during your first year. You will work under the principal's direction but report to the central coordinator for school libraries within the upper secondary segment. Together with other school librarians, you will be part of a network for professional development and collegial learning. About You We are looking for someone who is organized, self-directed, and has a strong ability to build relationships. As a person, you collaborate easily with both students and staff, can work independently and in groups, and have a strong interest in teaching and learning. You are attentive, communicate clearly, and engage both colleagues and students to promote participation and well-being. Requirements You must have a degree in library and information science or another relevant academic qualification. Experience with school libraries or other educational activities is a merit. You have high digital competence and a strong interest in children's and young adult literature. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability. The position is a fixed-term employment with 40% hours and starts 2026-10-01 or by agreement. The employment extends through 2027-06-30 with the possibility of extension.
