From autumn term 2025, Centralskolan became a dedicated middle school (grades 7–9), and this year we expanded by three classrooms and now have approximately 300 students. This means a clear focus on middle school instruction, subject depth, and relationship-building work in a school environment shaped with students' and teachers' best interests at the center. The middle school is divided into three teaching teams, and each team has a special education teacher assigned to it. Centralskolan is part of a larger school area together with Tallbacksskolan in Månkarbo and Kyrkskolan in Kyrkbyn, both elementary schools (grades F–6). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES We are looking for two engaged and inspiring special education teachers who are passionate about developing young students' potential! As a special education teacher, your main responsibilities will be: - Plan, implement, and follow up on instruction for students in need of special support, individually or in small groups. - Conduct pedagogical assessments, evaluations, and analyses of student learning and development. - Contribute special education expertise in developing and following up intervention plans and other governing documents. - Support and coach teachers and other staff in special education work. - Work preventatively and promotively to develop inclusive learning environments in collaboration with educators and student support services. - Actively participate in the school's student support team. - Collaborate with guardians and external partners to provide students with the best possible conditions. One of the positions will primarily collaborate with staff and students in one of our three teaching teams. The other position is an expansion as we are at the beginning stages of expanding our operations with a smaller teaching group. The idea is that you, together with an educator, plan for and teach students in a smaller setting. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who is passionate about student development and wants to make a real difference in their school life. You have strong commitment to inclusion, relationship-building, and accessible learning. We are looking for you who - Hold a teaching degree with a special education specialization. - Have good knowledge of accommodations, special support, and intervention plans and work structurally based on applicable governing documents. - Have experience meeting students in need of support, for example in reading, writing, and mathematics development as well as social-emotional and behavioral support. - Are comfortable with a consultative working approach and collaborate closely with teaching staff, student support teams, and school leadership. - Are confident in building trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. - Have good ability to express yourself clearly in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. - Have a solution-focused and positive approach. - Are attentive, flexible, and see possibilities in each student's circumstances. - Want to actively contribute to the school's development work around accessible and inclusive learning environments. - Are comfortable using digital tools and assistive technology as a natural part of instruction. We place great importance on personal suitability. Meritorious - Previous experience as a special education teacher at the middle school level. - Specialized expertise in language, reading, and writing development or mathematics development. - Experience with documentation, follow-up, and analysis of support measures in digital systems. Tierp Municipality is part of the Finnish administrative area. If, in addition to our other competency requirements, you also speak Finnish, that could be a merit.
