Specialist Psychiatric Unit 4 provides assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for patients with substance use disorders as well as patients with psychotic disorders. We care for patients supported by HSL, LPT, LRV, LVU, and LVM. Our patients often have both somatic and psychiatric care needs.
Patients come to the unit via psychiatric emergency services, planned through social services, or as self-referrals through our detoxification unit (TNE), which is operated in collaboration with the region's municipalities. Admissions occur 24/7, with an average length of stay of approximately three to five days.
As a registered nurse on Unit 4, you have a leadership function and are responsible for the psychiatric care of hospitalized patients together with physicians, nursing assistants, and discharge coordinators. You and the other registered nurses are responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care. Your duties also include supportive conversations/motivational interviews with patients and contact with other healthcare providers, municipalities, and family members/next of kin.
Work Responsibilities
Standard nursing duties: Medication management, blood draws, assessment, nursing care responsibility with special focus on psychiatric care, and leadership.
Qualifications
Specialist registered nurse with a focus on psychiatry or a licensed registered nurse without a specialist nursing degree. Upon employment, specialist training will form part of your individual professional development plan. Experience from substance abuse care is a plus.

You should be confident in yourself and your role as a registered nurse. You are interested in providing both care and treatment to patients with serious psychiatric symptoms in acute phases and in working with the team to ensure safe and quality care and treatment.
