Are you a counselor who believes in people's capacity for change? Then you might be the person we're looking for. The Relationship Violence Center in Södertälje is in an exciting development phase and is now seeking two counselors who want to contribute knowledge, commitment, and courage in the work for a safer Södertälje. You'll become part of an operation with great social value, where each intervention and each meeting can be decisive in breaking cycles of violence, creating safety, and strengthening people's conditions for a life free from violence. We at the Relationship Violence Center are divided into outpatient care, which includes counselors, and government operations consisting of counselors, social workers, and group leaders. A total of 15 people. Together, our unit has unique expertise and experience with diverse educational backgrounds and professional experience. This means we are a strong team that works together and respects, challenges, and supports each other. All so that our clients and citizens can have as good a life situation as possible. Our goal is always for them to live a life in safety free from violence. In our unit called Support for Adults, we also have budget and debt counselors, eviction prevention specialists, outreach workers, group leaders, and soon two people who will work in the field of mental health. Now we're seeking two counselors with commitment, expertise, and drive – are you one of them? Your Responsibilities With us, you'll have a varied, qualified, and meaningful assignment where you meet people in different life situations. You will: - Conduct individual treatment and support sessions with adults who have experienced violence in close relationships and with adults who perpetrate violence in close relationships - Lead and conduct group activities - Work with needs-assessment services according to implementation plans - Provide advice and support conversations within the framework of preventive and early interventions - Collaborate with internal and external actors such as social services and healthcare - Participate in information initiatives, training, and development work in the field of intimate partner violence - Contribute to developing the organization's methods, working approaches, and preventive initiatives The work is independent but takes place in close collaboration with colleagues and partner organizations. Since we want to be available for our target group, evening work may occur, for example in group activities and information initiatives. Who Are You? We're looking for someone who is engaged by issues concerning intimate partner violence, honor-related violence and oppression, and how norms and power structures affect people's lives. You believe in people's capacity for change and want to help create conditions for increased safety, independence, and sustainable relationships. You are confident in yourself and can meet people in complex situations with respect and attentiveness. You have a strong ability to create trusting relationships while setting professional boundaries. You work in a structured way, are independent, and find it easy to collaborate with other professionals. We also see that you are development-oriented and want to help shape future support for people affected by intimate partner violence. Personal Qualities - Relationship-building and trustworthy - Secure and stable when meeting people in difficult life situations - Independent and responsible - Collaborative and unpretentious - Structured and flexible - Engaged in development and change work Requirements - Degree in social work or other higher education that the employer deems equivalent - Basic psychotherapy training (Level 1) - Experience with counseling work and support conversations with adults - Experience working in the field of intimate partner violence - Class B driver's license Meritorious - Experience conducting conversations individually and in groups - Training in the treatment programs "Conversation About Violence" and "Conversation About Freedom" - Experience with counseling work with people who perpetrate intimate partner violence - Experience with outreach and preventive work within social services - Experience collaborating with other actors - Multilingualism We place great importance on personal suitability, commitment, and the ability to create change together with the people we meet. What We Offer You Later this summer we're moving to new adapted premises where four different units that work primarily with preventive initiatives will be located. The premises are centrally located on Turingegatan in Södertälje. Our units will be situated in an open-plan office one floor up in the building. On the ground floor, all our consultation rooms will be located where we meet the municipality's residents.
