Who We Are Looking For: We are seeking a man who is calm and secure as a person, but who has retained a childlike spirit. You should be able to take initiative when needed, be clear, active, and stable. You also need to be physically strong and able to perform some heavy lifting/transfers. The boy has no speech but can express himself through sounds; as an assistant, it's good if you feel comfortable with one-way communication. Patience and empathy are valuable qualities in this job. Being attentive, focused, and responsive to the user's needs is essential. We place great importance on personal suitability, personal chemistry, and teamwork ability. Since you will be working in the user's home, it's important that you maintain a professional approach. We especially welcome applicants who see this as a long-term position. The position involves working certain fixed evenings and every other weekend, according to a schedule. You should be flexible and able to step in when needed, for example if a colleague becomes ill. Work hours are scheduled for afternoons/evenings on weekdays and longer day shifts on weekends. The position can vary between 30-50% or you can work as an hourly substitute; this can be discussed upon hiring. It can be good to combine substitute work with studies or another part-time job. Who We Are Looking For (The User): I am a 14-year-old boy who has had cerebral palsy since birth. I use a wheelchair and need help with most things, as I want to live my life as well and as normally as possible. Your Responsibilities: Your tasks are to help me in my daily life. I need help with activities, listening to music, etc., communicating, moving around, personal hygiene, tube feeding, and training according to my exercise schedule—which is an IMPORTANT part. Moving me outdoors and indoors with a wheelchair, practicing standing, tidying my room, and doing other fun things. There are assistive devices like lifts, but there is some heavier lifting involved, so physical strength is beneficial. Your workplace is wherever the user is located.
