The Sámi School Board is a state agency with its office, school principal, controllers, HR, and case handlers in Jåhkåmåhkke. The Sámi School is an educational form equivalent to primary school offering instruction from preschool class through grade 6. The teaching is based on Sámi culture and the Sámi language according to the curriculum for Sámi schools. The Sámi School Board also operates preschools in agreement with respective municipalities. The Sámi School Board has operations in Giron, Gárasavvon, Váhtjer, Jåhkåmåhkke, and Dearna. The Sámi School Board provides distance education in Sámi languages and supports the development and production of teaching materials for Sámi instruction. 1 position(s). DUTIES We are seeking an engaged and flexible colleague for a combined temporary position that includes both student support in school activities and work at the after-school recreation center. Part of the role involves working as a resource for a student in need of support during the school day. The assignment involves creating security, structure, and good conditions for learning and development. You will follow the student throughout the school day, during instruction, transitions, and breaks, and serve as support in motivating, guiding, and establishing good routines. The other part of the role involves work at the recreation center. You will participate in planning and implementing activities, and contribute to creating a safe, meaningful, and developmental after-school experience for students. The work includes supporting students in play, activities, and social interaction, as well as working according to a rotating schedule with both opening and closing of the recreation center. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who is responsible, organized, and has strong collaboration skills. You are comfortable working with students, have a solution-focused approach, and the ability to build positive relationships. It is an asset if you have experience working with children and students, particularly students in need of support. Experience working in after-school recreation or other educational activities is also an asset. Knowledge of Sámi is an asset but not required. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. Salary form: Monthly salary. Employment type: Fixed-term employment. Duration: 6 months or longer, start date: August 13, 2026 through August 12, 2027, end date: August 12, 2027.
