The Department of Health Sciences operates on Campus Sundsvall and Campus Östersund. The department provides education and conducts research across a range of subjects, with a focus on people, health, and wellbeing. The department offers courses, undergraduate programs, and advanced-level education. Our undergraduate programs include the Public Health Science program, Sport Science program, Mental Health/Illness program, Health and Rehabilitation in Working Life program, and Nursing education. Research is multidisciplinary and conducted within the subjects of public health science, sport science, medical science, nursing, and rehabilitation science, as well as at the National Winter Sports Center (NVC). Responsibilities Responsibilities include course management, teaching, supervision, and examination of students primarily in the subject's courses at the undergraduate level. The work also includes participation in program and subject development as well as development of web-based education. Additionally, the role involves active participation in the department's development work, administration, and the subject's work for equal conditions. Qualifications Anyone employed as a University Lecturer must meet the requirements described in Mid Sweden University's employment regulations. Qualified for employment as a University Lecturer in Sport Science is someone who has earned a Bachelor's degree with Sport Science or Sports Medicine as the main subject, or has equivalent competence within the subject area the position concerns. Additional Requirements Anyone employed as a University Lecturer must have demonstrated teaching skills. The employee must be able to perform administrative and pedagogical tasks that require understanding of and ability to use and understand Swedish and English in both speech and writing. The applicant must be flexible, possess good communication and cooperation skills, and have good pedagogical insight. Assessment Criteria The following assessment criteria apply when employing a University Lecturer: the degree of competence required for eligibility for the position. The evaluation of pedagogical skills shall receive equal attention as the evaluation of other eligibility-based conditions. Experience with course management, various pedagogical work methods, and teaching experience in courses at university level in sport science are advantageous. Experience supervising student theses is also advantageous. Particularly advantageous is teaching experience in anatomy, sports medicine, physical activity and health, sports nutrition, and similar subjects. A high degree of teaching experience at university level is advantageous. Processing Preparation of the employment will proceed in accordance with Mid Sweden University's employment regulations. Employment and Start Date The position is a fixed-term employment comprising 25% of full-time from August 14, 2026 or by agreement, but no later than December 15, 2026.
