At the Department of Data and Electrical Engineering, education is conducted in the subjects of computer science, electronics, electrical engineering, and audio production. Research at the department takes place at the research center Sensible Things that Communicate (www.miun.se/stc) and concerns sensor-based systems and services for use within Internet of Things and artificial intelligence. Job Responsibilities The main responsibilities will consist of teaching in the two-year distance program in web development. Since the field is under constant development, course development will also be an important part of the work. You will be part of a team and collaborate with other committed teachers. The position is located at Mid Sweden University's campus in Sundsvall. The web development program is offered at a distance, which allows for remote work, but you are expected to be on campus at least 60% of the time. If you do not already live in the region, a larger share of remote work, by agreement, may be accepted initially. Possibly in connection with a trial employment. Qualifications Anyone to be employed as a university lecturer must be qualified according to the requirements described in Mid Sweden University's employment regulations, which for this position includes at least 180 credits comprising at least 90 credits or equivalent competence within the subject of computer science. Assessment Criteria The assessment criteria for employing a university lecturer are based on the degree of competence that is a requirement for qualification for employment. The assessment of pedagogical competence shall be given equal attention as the assessment of other qualification-related conditions. Beyond the formal qualification requirements, knowledge is required in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, JS frameworks (React, Vue or Angular), server-based web development (Node.js/Express), cloud services for publishing, and Git and version control. Beyond this, it is meritorious if you also have knowledge in multiple JS frameworks, C# and .NET, CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Sitevision or Umbraco), headless CMS (Sanity, Contentful, Strapi), CI/CD and Docker, WCAG and accessibility, and the use of AI tools in development work. Experience in teaching is meritorious, particularly if it has been at higher education level, within the area of web development or at a distance. Practical professional experience as a web developer is also meritorious. You must be fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written. Personal Qualities You should be responsible, have high social competence and good cooperation skills, but also be able to work independently. Processing Preparation of the employment follows the procedures specified in Chapter 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance and proceeds in accordance with Mid Sweden University's employment regulations.
