Our Operations The psychiatry service area provides highly specialized care for individuals with serious mental illnesses. Psychiatric Ward 3A is a 24-hour inpatient ward with 13 beds for assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with primarily affective disorders, mainly bipolar syndrome, severe depression, and anxiety conditions. The ward also treats patients with eating disorder issues. Four of the beds are dedicated to this type of treatment. Your Assignment Working as a nursing assistant on Ward 3A is exciting work where you meet many people in different situations. You are part of a team that supports and helps one another while also working independently. The team includes physicians, nursing assistants, nurses, specialist nurses, and social workers. Patients come to us both as emergencies and by appointment, and the work pace can be high at times. As a nursing assistant, you primarily work with basic psychiatric and somatic nursing care close to the patient. You care for patients with a wide variety of care needs. In collaboration with colleagues from other professions, you participate in planning the patient's care and treatment. You work with supportive conversations and documentation, and perform blood draws and examinations. The workplace is stimulating and offers a mix of somatic and psychiatric care. The position also includes mentoring nursing assistant students. Your Qualifications Education as a nursing assistant through upper secondary school's care and service program (3 years, 2500 credits), the Care and Service Program through adult education (Komvux, three terms, minimum 1350 credits), or equivalent nursing assistant education. (For other equivalent education within municipal adult education or earlier nursing assistant or care worker training, individual assessment will be made.) Meritorious to have documented experience working in specialized psychiatric care. Your Competencies You have a genuine interest in psychiatric nursing care. You have the ability to communicate and adapt your communication based on the different needs you encounter. As a person, you are positive, engaged, and thorough. It is important that you have a genuine interest in working with people with psychiatric issues and want to help develop our operations. You master basic medical-technical procedures at the nursing assistant level such as venous blood draws, EKG examinations, and wound care.
