Do you want to make a difference in people's everyday lives? The Smedjan unit in Vara town is the unit name for two residences with special services; Smedjan and Brinkestigen. These two are located geographically close to each other and collaborate daily with shared activities, etc. These two BMSS also include Functional Support, which is residential support in ordinary housing for persons within the LSS and SOL areas. Here we work in ordinary housing throughout Vara municipality. We are now seeking new colleagues who want to be part of developing the activities to meet an increased need for support and services. With us, you will have the opportunity to contribute to enabling people to live independent and meaningful lives according to their own circumstances. Your Role As a support assistant, you work to make a difference in the daily lives of the people we help and support. You work in a motivating and empowering manner and operate based on implementation plans where users and staff have together documented how support and assistance should be provided. You provide support around the clock. You provide support in care situations, help with various household tasks, accompany people to different activities, and provide assistance with contacts with authorities and other care providers. A large part of the work involves providing support and help to break isolation and actively participate in community life. At certain times of the day, solo work occurs. Your Knowledge and Experience We are looking for you with experience of working with the target group and social documentation. You need to have a B driver's license for manual cars, access to BankID, and be comfortable using digital tools in everyday life. You have education in the field, for example support assistant training, child and leisure program, leisure leader line, care program, or other education/competence/experience that the employer deems equivalent. It is meritorious if you have support pedagogy training. As a person, you are attentive and flexible in your work approach. You have a good ability to motivate others and great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. You must be able to provide an extract from the police's criminal record. Type of extract: Extract for work in the home with elderly and people with disabilities. You also need to be able to present a passport/valid ID card. A driver's license can be shown together with a personal certificate that you obtain from skatteverket.se with the help of Bank-ID; we can do this at a scheduled interview. Your Future Workplace On our unit, we are approximately 20 people working distributed in three smaller work teams to try to minimize the number of staff around our users and thus create security and predictability. We plan and implement support and assistance flexibly based on the users' needs and possibilities. We support each other well in everyday life through collegial support and collaboration where we coach each other through the challenges that arise. We take advantage of each other's strengths and see differences as enriching. We develop our working methods through structured competence development in the field of disabilities through pedagogical meetings, the Professional Journey, and more targeted training. We adapt our way of working by organizing ourselves in the most optimal way for the needs our users have.
