The Social Services Department recently underwent an organizational change focused on creating a more accessible social service based on three main areas: Authority, Services and Support, and Housing. Social Psychiatry is part of the Housing operational area and serves adults with long-term mental disabilities as well as substance abuse and/or psychosocial difficulties. The operation provides housing with special support in accordance with the Social Services Act for people with long-term mental disabilities. Now we are looking for engaged colleagues for our housing facility Plutogatan BSS. Plutogatan BSS is a housing facility with special support aimed at people with mental disabilities. The operation has approximately 30 places and offers individually adapted support. The work team currently consists of 15 employees, five of whom work nights. Work Tasks As a support assistant, you will provide social, educational, and practical support to our residents. The work aims to contribute to increased quality of life and security through individually adapted support and service. The Social Services Department works according to the Signs of Safety approach, which permeates the entire department's work and entails a respectful, solution-focused, and strength-based working method where the individual's participation is central. The operation works according to the method Independent Living, with the goal of providing our users with good conditions to live as independently as possible and to be able to participate in society's welfare on equal terms. Work tasks include social support, activation, and motivation and change work. The role involves creating a calm and secure environment for our clients during the night. You always work with an awake colleague, where your interaction and sense of security are of utmost importance. You therefore need to safeguard your shared responsibility and be able to create a safe working environment. You and your colleague are available to clients when needed and provide a low-affect approach. This could include, for example, the need for conversation or medication. Cleaning and laundry are also part of the work tasks. You are also expected to document in our journal system Lifecare. Health and medical care services occur in collaboration with a nurse and are performed according to delegation. It is therefore a requirement that you perform delegated health and medical care tasks in a responsible and quality-assured manner. In your role as support assistant, you are the case manager's extended arm in implementing decided interventions. This means you document events in the operation's daily life and follow up and provide feedback on the intervention in consultation with the responsible case manager. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is positive, initiative-taking, and can work both independently and as part of a team. You must have a rehabilitative approach and be able to create security, have good interpersonal skills, be creative and courageous, and see the bigger picture.
