Description We are now looking for a special education teacher to join our wonderful, competent, and engaged student support team at Kvarnbergsskolan! Kvarnbergsskolan is located at the top of Kvarnberget and has approximately 300 students from preschool through grade 6. The newly renovated and expanded school opened in fall 2020 and offers excellent learning environments as well as multiple outdoor spaces that provide excellent opportunities for varied outdoor activities. We also collaborate with the Sports School and Cultural School to provide our students with a broad and stimulating education. Duties As a special education teacher, you work preventatively and promotively, but also with targeted interventions and provide focused support to students. You work together with other colleagues in the student support team; special education teachers, school counselor, school nurse, and school psychologist as well as educators at Kvarnbergsskolan. Together with our student support team, you plan and lead work around students with special needs. You are skilled at supporting teachers in making adaptations in the school's various learning environments and you have good expertise in how to work with and organize special support. You have a genuine interest in children's situations and are responsive to different students' needs and have a flexible working style. You should be able to meet with guardians and lead meetings both together with colleagues and independently. It is meritorious if you have experience with/training in working with children who have different functional variations. The position includes coaching of teachers and supporting the school's various pedagogical working groups from a special education perspective. You want to drive active improvement work on how we organize instruction so that all students can have their needs met. You are well-read and interested in educational research and are generous in sharing your knowledge with others. Qualifications We are looking for you who are a licensed special education teacher and have experience working with various analysis and mapping materials to make correct educational assessments. As a person, you need to have a good ability to plan and structure by setting clear goals for instruction and support measures based on students' individual needs and follow up results continuously. You understand how students learn in different ways and adapt methods to their unique needs, strengths, and difficulties, as well as analyze and improve your own teaching based on student development and feedback. You have a good ability to motivate students to overcome challenges to dare try new things. You take initiative and make decisions to drive work forward, even in complex or difficult situations.
