Special Education Teacher at Kunskapsskolan Motala

Description:

Kunskapsskolan in Sweden operates primary and secondary schools under the names Kunskapsskolan and Kunskapsgymnasiet. Kunskapsskolan's first schools started in 2000, and today more than 14,500 students attend the 30 primary schools and 5 secondary schools. At Kunskapsskolan, we have a pedagogy that is personally tailored and based on each individual. Through our approach, we create close relationships between teachers and students, which provides the conditions for each student to achieve more than they themselves thought possible. In an environment where students can be themselves and receive the right support and challenges, we create a school where both students and staff thrive and develop. Kunskapsskolan Motala is a primary school for grades 4–9 with approximately 280 students. The school is located in the Luxor area in a former industrial building, converted into a school well adapted for our working methods. Kunskapsskolan Motala is seeking a committed special education teacher We are now looking for a committed and confident special education teacher for grades 4–9 who wants to help shape a stable, inclusive, and health-promoting learning environment for our students. As a special education teacher at Kunskapsskolan, you work based on our clear vision where student health, learning, and development are seen as an inseparable whole. Your role is central in ensuring that students' needs for educational interventions and adaptations are met, while you contribute to both students and staff having the right conditions in our educational environment. Your assignment is largely about driving and developing preventive and health-promoting student support work. Under the principal's leadership, you ensure that the school owner's intentions are followed and that you assist school management and educational staff with valuable information, advice, and assessments on matters concerning student learning and school situations. By bringing special education expertise to daily work and overall planning, you become a key player in identifying and removing obstacles to learning and in developing accessible learning environments. In daily work, the role involves a wide range of tasks. You conduct pedagogical assessments, investigate needs for special support, and establish, follow up, and evaluate intervention plans. You observe teaching and provide follow-up coaching and consultation to the school's teachers and personal mentors at individual, group, and organizational levels. You actively work on matters concerning study environment, adaptations, and inclusion, and contribute to ensuring that the school's digital tools on Kunskapsportalen are used in an accessible way for everyone. Collaboration is a natural part of your everyday work, as you serve as a link between the student support team, the educational staff, and families, and collaborate with external actors as needed to ensure student development. The position may also involve the assignment of special education teacher. Depending on your specific competency profile and the school's needs, this means that in addition to the overall and consultative work, you also work closely with students on direct special education interventions. You contribute to developing students' specific abilities, conduct goal-oriented instruction, and support educators in designing concrete subject didactics for students in need of special support. Qualifications To succeed in this role, you have an academic special education degree and preferably work experience with children and youth in primary school. You are well familiar with LGR-22 and have a very strong ability to coach and consult colleagues and are comfortable assisting educators in meetings with guardians. As a person, you have an inclusive approach and a strong conviction that all students want to and can succeed under the right conditions. You thrive with many contact points – from students and teachers to centrally responsible people within the company. With us, you get meaningful work in an organization that prioritizes collaboration, teamwork, and continuous development of the learning environment. Position design: This is a permanent employment. Recruitment process: We apply continuous selection, which means the position may be filled before the final application deadline.
