The school is a unit for primary school grades 4–6 with approximately 300 students. The unit also includes adapted primary school grades 1–9 and an after-school program. We also work based on the principle that good relationships between students and adults are an important foundation for learning and development. A safe school environment with security, well-being, and study peace is created through clear structures, good communication, and close collaboration between all staff and guardians. We are now seeking a special education teacher with a focus on intellectual disabilities. 4 position(s). WORK DUTIES As a special education teacher with a focus on intellectual disabilities, you work to create accessible, structured, and safe learning environments where students have the opportunity to develop academically, socially, and personally. The assignment includes working according to the school's governing documents, curriculum, and national goals, where instruction is designed to promote students' knowledge development, safety, and study peace. You collaborate closely with other teachers, student resources, student health services, guardians, and external actors. As a special education teacher, you are also responsible for leading and coordinating the work of student resources around the students. This means planning and structuring pedagogical work in the student group and contributing to clear working methods and pedagogical strategies. You participate in the school's systematic quality work and contribute to the development of instruction and support measures. Instruction is designed with the support of clarifying pedagogy, alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), and a low-affect and relational approach. Instruction can take place in the classroom, in small groups, or individually. Our Platform for governance and management guides us in our daily work and contributes to equivalent quality throughout the school unit. The platform clarifies our shared processes, roles, and responsibilities and is an important foundation for our work. Systematic quality work is a central part of the operation and is used continuously to develop instruction, organization, and learning environment with the goal of increasing students' goal achievement. Placement, grade levels, classes, and subjects may vary during the year and between different school years based on operational needs. Mentorship of students is included in the position. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who are an authorized teacher with a special education teacher degree or equivalent competence. A special education teacher degree is highly meritorious and may be required in the future. You also have: • Documented strong collaboration skills and a strong sense of responsibility. • Excellent ability to create trusting relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. • Ability to adapt instruction and approach based on students' daily condition and needs. • Safe, structured, and professional conduct in various student situations. • A low-affect approach and focus on contributing to calmness and stability. • Excellent leadership qualities and ability to organize and prioritize. • Ability to lead personnel in daily work with students. • Excellent ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.
