Stenungsund Municipality is part of the Gothenburg Region Municipal Association, which serves as a forum for collaboration and experience sharing, and participates in several other inter-municipal collaborations. In Stenungsund, we invest in early interventions and are in an exciting development phase in shaping the social services of the future into a more accessible, preventive, and knowledge-based service. Since fall 2024, the Education Sector and Social Services Sector have a joint school social team with the goal of giving our children and young people increased opportunities to succeed in primary school. Stenungsund's school social team primarily works in an early stage with promotion and prevention measures – we use a goal-oriented approach where new forms and methods are tested. The work varies based on current needs and is in constant development. From fall 2026, the school social team will be expanded to consist of 9 employees. The work is organized in smaller teams distributed across respective school areas, with each school area's team consisting of 3 employees (one school social worker, one social pedagogue, and one teacher). Your workplace will primarily be in the primary schools in Stenungsund Municipality and the school area you will work in; the team also has a shared workplace in central Stenungsund. Connected to the team are a strategic steering group and a steering group. The team is led by the student welfare director for each school area and the unit manager for the family support unit. The school social team's quality and development work takes place in close collaboration with social services, primary school, and student welfare. As a school social worker, you are part of the Family Support Unit within Individual and Family Care. The unit consists of Family Therapists, Parent Counselors, Crime Prevention Officers for Children and Youth, Family Center Coordinators, and Family Counseling STO. DUTIES The work is based on a relational, systems-theoretical, and salutogenic perspective. Collaboration is central. The school social team works operatively in coordinated collaboration within the following areas: • Promotion and prevention measures at group level in safety, study environment, and values-based work • Measures addressing problematic school absenteeism • Easily accessible school social parenting and family support Work tasks: • Plans, coordinates, and implements measures at individual and group level • Close operational work with and alongside students, school staff, guardians, and networks • School social parenting and family support at individual and group level • Develops action plans and leads work on in-depth absenteeism investigations, primary responsibility for documentation & communication • Is an active co-leader in the team's systematic quality work – gathers data, analyzes, and drives improvement activities • Has an active role in crisis work As a school social worker, you are particularly responsible for: • Communication with guardians and others in the private and professional network. • Easily accessible school social parenting and family support • Documentation in the social services system for IUB Measures are based on the child's or young person's needs. As a school social worker, you work with qualified change work directed toward the child/young person, guardians, and others in the network around the child. The assignment is varied and meaningful, where you meet children, young people, and families in different life situations and work with flexible, customized measures. You collaborate closely with colleagues in both sectors and other important actors. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who is curious, courageous, empathetic, and attentive. You are flexible, solution-focused, and take initiative easily. You enjoy working in a team while also being able to work independently. You are responsible and relationship-building. You have a genuine interest in working with this target group. You have knowledge of school operations, teaching, and adaptations as well as social services work with children, young people, and families. You need to see opportunities in changes and enjoy working in a goal-oriented manner. You also need to be good at structuring, planning, and prioritizing in your work. We would like to see that you have a systems-theoretical foundation with a salutogenic approach. You have a degree in social work or another relevant university/college degree that is assessed as equivalent by the employer. You have good command of Swedish language both spoken and written and hold a Category B driver's license. It is advantageous if you have previous experience working in schools and social services. If you have a background as, for example, a family therapist and/or school counselor, this could be a good fit for you. It is also advantageous if you have further education in the field such as Family Therapy and/or other manual-based methods aimed at conducting change work.
