The overarching goal is for all students to have the opportunity to meet the required knowledge standards in school. As a school nurse, you will be part of a coordinated student health team at the school and will work closely with the school doctor, special education teacher, psychologist, counselor, and principal. The coordinated student health team supports students' development toward educational goals. The school nurse's responsibilities include standard school nursing tasks that are important parts of this work. Health visits and open office hours are important elements in ensuring each student receives the support they need at school. Other responsibilities include vaccinations according to the general vaccination program. Qualifications You must be a licensed nurse with specialist training in health and medical care for children and youth or in open health and medical care. Previous experience working with children and youth, as well as experience as a school nurse, is considered advantageous. The position requires good computer skills. As a person, you should be organized and conscientious, enjoy working in multiprofessional teams, and be somewhat of an entrepreneur—someone who thrives on creating and taking own initiatives. You have a strong drive for health promotion work, creating a school environment that is positive, tolerant, and safe, and continuously working together to build good relationships at all levels.
