In your role as a pipe fitter, your main responsibilities will be focused on the fabrication and assembly of piping systems for new construction, conversion, and maintenance of submarines and surface vessels. We use welding methods such as TIG and orbital welding. The piping systems contain materials such as stainless steel, copper-nickel, copper, titanium, and unalloyed steel. This makes the job highly varied and provides excellent opportunities to develop your craftsmanship and professional skills. To succeed as a pipe fitter with us, we see that you are collaborative, solution-oriented, and thorough. Your Profile Requirements Secondary education in plumbing and heating or equivalent Knowledge of blueprint and schematic reading as well as good knowledge of materials and welding consumables Basic computer skills Meritorious Experience with hard soldering, TIG welding, and if you hold a welding certificate. Previous experience processing materials through drilling, threading, bending, and cutting. Knowledge of fasteners and measuring techniques The position requires that you undergo and are approved in accordance with applicable security regulations at any given time. For positions where Saab has requirements for security clearance classification, this may, where applicable, entail requirements for certain citizenship.
