The hospital has a combined clinic that encompasses emergency care, internal medicine, geriatrics, and rehabilitation. This provides excellent conditions for rapid and efficient care, from the emergency department to inpatient wards and further to rehabilitation in the patient's home. The hospital has approximately 40 beds distributed across an acute care ward, an internal medicine ward, and a ward for acute geriatrics, stroke, and rehabilitation. The emergency department is open 24 hours a day and treats approximately 20,000 patients per year. A large portion of the operations consists of specialized outpatient care, where various clinics and investigations are offered, for example in cardiology (echocardiography, Holter monitoring, blood pressure measurements, TEE, stress tests), endocrinology, nephrology (including hemodialysis), gastroenterology (gastro- and colonoscopies), sleep medicine (nocturnal respiratory monitoring and polysomnographies), and dementia investigations. Additionally, general internal medicine and geriatric investigation and treatment are provided, including bone marrow sampling, pleura and ascites tapping, lumbar punctures, and more. The clinic also has extensive inpatient paramedical care, as well as day and home rehabilitation. In total, we have 200 employees in various professional categories. We place great emphasis on education and our goal is to be Sweden's best medical school for junior doctors, which has contributed to us often ranking highly for medical placements in the AT ranking. Job Responsibilities As a specialist in internal medicine, you will receive a defined area of responsibility within the clinic's broad operations and thereby be given a senior physician position. Together with other senior physicians, you will have significant responsibility for both inpatient and outpatient specialist care. The job responsibilities include on-call duties 24 hours a day, ward responsibility, and outpatient clinic work and diagnostics. As on-call physician, you will have support from an ST doctor on duty during weekends. You will be a mentor to AT/BT and/or ST doctors and thereby contribute to a good educational climate. The position is full-time, but there may be an opportunity for part-time employment. Qualifications Requirements: Swedish medical license and specialist competence in internal medicine and/or a related relevant specialty Swedish language proficiency equivalent to at least C1 level Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities, suitability, and sense of responsibility.
