We're now seeking a merit dentist and offering you the chance to join our team in the Pediatric Dentistry Department in Falun. Specialist Dentistry Manhem is a region-wide operation for specialist dental care in the fields of endodontics, oral prosthodontics, orthodontics, periodontology, and pediatric dentistry. The same facility also includes a dental laboratory. The clinic employs over 50 people—dental hygienists, orthodontic assistants, dental therapists, dental assistant doctors, merit dentists, and specialist dentists, as well as sterilization and reception staff. The Pediatric Dentistry Department receives referrals from general dentistry and healthcare. Our department works with children and adolescents ages 0-19 with various forms of functional limitations, serious general illnesses, complicated dental trauma, dentoalveolar surgery, severe dental anxiety/treatment issues, complex dental disease, and tooth development disorders. We provide all forms of specialized pediatric and adolescent dental care with a long-term perspective and the patient at the center. In the Pediatric Dentistry Department, we regularly perform treatments under sedation and anesthesia. We have observing dental care personnel from general dentistry and dental therapy students on placement. We mentor dental hygienists, dental therapists, and dentists from general dentistry, conduct clinic visits, and arrange courses for general dentistry. Duties The position involves a permanent appointment as a dentist at a general dental clinic and a 50 percent merit dentist position in pediatric dentistry in Falun for six months with the possibility of extension or until the permanent holder returns to duty. If you are not already employed in Folktandvården Dalarna, you will be offered a permanent position at a general dental clinic in Falun. As a merit dentist in pediatric dentistry, you will work with dental treatment under midazolam and nitrous oxide sedation, conduct simple evaluations under the supervision of a specialist dentist, and provide emergency dental care during daytime hours for the pediatric department. Your position includes literature reviews and seminars as well as participation in the education we offer general dentistry. Qualifications Requirements: Licensed dentist At least two years of experience in general dentistry Training in midazolam and nitrous oxide sedation Experience working with children and adolescents Fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written Meritorious: Completed diploma courses in pediatric dentistry Previous service at a pediatric dentistry clinic Experience working as a pediatric dentist at a public dental clinic Personal Qualities: You are interested in developing yourself in your professional role related to pediatric and adolescent dentistry, both clinically and educationally, and you work well in teams.
