We are now seeking a qualified teacher to teach ICT subjects in the IT Pedagogy Program and courses in the Preparatory Correctional Services and Police Training. Job Responsibilities Currently, we primarily need to strengthen instruction for participants in the IT Pedagogy Program and Preparatory Correctional Services and Police Training, but teaching in other programs, short courses, and commissioned training may also become relevant. You will be responsible for planning, conducting, and evaluating lessons. You will also serve as a mentor for a class. As a teacher at Tärna Folk High School, you are part of the institution's important socio-pedagogical work. This means you must be interested in people and engage in both residential life and other activities that may occur at a folk high school. It also means you have several important roles in your teaching work beyond your main subjects. About the Workplace Tärna Folk High School was founded in 1876 and is therefore one of the country's oldest folk high schools. A folk high school is something unique. It is not only about studying theoretical subjects but also about the development of the whole person. At Tärna Folk High School, you can study our long courses: General Course, IT Pedagogy Program, Preparatory Correctional Services and Police Training, Stress Pedagogy Program, Massage Therapy Program, Fitness Massage Program, Preparatory Care Program, and Care Assistant/Nursing Assistant Program. Work experience from employment in the Correctional Services or Police Authority is an asset. Working methods at Tärna Folk High School mean we are also interested in your other possible competencies and areas of interest. As a person, you are engaged and have good pedagogical and communication skills. You are positive, social, and have an easy way of making contact with others. It is an asset if you have knowledge of the Folk High School concept. Employment Terms Vacancy Replacement The position is a permanent employment at 80-100%, with a six-month probationary period.
