Retail Sales Associate (Summer Job), Fresh Produce, City Gross Uddevalla
Description:
Do you love food and are ready for a career where people are at the center? At City Gross, everything we do is about helping and inspiring our customers toward a better everyday life. Our heart beats a little extra for fresh produce and we believe in people. We believe we become better when we have different backgrounds and experiences. Whether you're promoting freshly harvested vegetables, cutting a perfect piece of meat, ensuring shelves are always well-stocked, or creating campaigns that meet our customers' needs, everyone here has one reason: to create an amazing customer experience. About the Job The position: Summer vacation coverage with varying hours during the summer. Start date: By agreement, summer 2026. Work hours: Early mornings, late evenings, and weekends are a natural part of the work. We welcome applicants of all ages, but due to the Work Environment Act, you must be at least 18 years old to work in our production departments (meat, fish & deli, or bakery). You'll put the finishing touch on the customer experience You have the chance to make a big impact on our customers' visits, so you have an important task in making the customer experience smooth and pleasant. This can mean a friendly smile, an unexpected question, or a helpful attitude so the customer finds what they need in the store. You should ensure the customer leaves happy—and hopefully with an extra item in their basket and a good feeling! What will you do? Each day brings new meetings and challenges, but some of your main tasks are: Ensure customers leave the store with a smile (and maybe an extra item or new inspiration). Work with packaging, restocking, and creating a pleasant store environment with order and cleanliness. Collaborate with colleagues throughout the store – we're a team and help where needed! Work tasks vary depending on which Fresh Produce department you work in! In our meat department, you work with cutting fresh Swedish meat, cut in-store. Contribute to offering our customers a fresh and inviting meat and charcuterie department. Work with customer service and sales over the counter in our manual fish and delicatessen department. Work with baking and production of everything from sourdough bread to princess cakes. Work with customer orders, restocking, and creating a pleasant store environment with order and cleanliness. Contribute to offering our customers a fresh and inspiring bakery department. Who are you? You are a natural problem-solver who enjoys pace and energy. A friendly hello and an extra helping hand are a given for you. Do you have a strong interest in really good meat? Great! If you've worked with meat and cutting—even better! We believe that you: Have a high school education and speak and write Swedish fluently. Since our customers speak more languages than that, it's fantastic if you do too. If you have previous experience/training in fresh produce handling and cutting, this is a merit. If you have previous experience/training in bakery or pastry, this is a merit. Love meeting customers and believe service should be genuine and engaged. Enjoy doing things together and contribute energy and joy. Are curious, solution-oriented, and see when something needs to be done and aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves to get it done! What do you get? Secure conditions – We have collective agreements with Handels and Unionen. Real career opportunities – With us, there's a chance to grow! Many of our store managers started exactly where you are now. Does this sound like something for you? Submit your application – we look forward to meeting you!
