Nurse, Arrhythmia Unit, Day Shift
Description:
Area of Activity: Heart and Lung Diseases We are Akademiska Hospital – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a county hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we serve two million people in Central Sweden. Here, something is always happening – a new life is born, a grandmother is operated on, a colleague is celebrated as a hero. With us, you will experience both challenging times and fantastic events, in a strong community with colleagues. Welcome with your application! Are you interested in cardiac care and want to learn more about arrhythmias? Then you are welcome to apply to our arrhythmia unit. We are part of the Heart and Lung Diseases area of activity. The area is organized into four sections: cardiology, thoracic surgery, pulmonary medicine, and clinical physiology, where we provide highly specialized care, diagnostics, and treatment of heart and lung diseases. Our Operations At the arrhythmia unit, patients with various types of heart rhythm disorders are treated and operated on. The unit consists of two treatment/operating rooms and we receive approximately 1,200 patients per year. A large part of our operations consists of planned care. We are a small, tight-knit work group consisting of 15 nurses, 2 nursing assistants, and 1 BMA, and we work closely with the unit's physicians. We believe it is important to have fun together in our daily work. Active employee engagement and opportunities for development, such as taking on your own areas of responsibility, are a given for us. You will receive an individually tailored introduction. Your Assignment Ablation of atrial fibrillation and pacemaker implantation are examples of treatments and operations performed at our unit. Your duties will largely consist of monitoring the patient or assisting the physician during these procedures, which are usually performed under local anesthesia. You will also help prepare materials for operations and treatments and prepare patients. Since most of our procedures use X-ray imaging, you will wear radiation protection aprons during parts of the workday. Your Qualifications We are looking for someone who is ready for a new challenge in an exciting field. You are a licensed nurse with several years of hospital care experience. You can work both independently and in a team with varying work pace. You are engaged, innovative, and positive about developing our operations. Previous experience working in cardiac care and/or specialist training in operating room, anesthesia, or intensive care is considered a merit. What We Offer We can offer you a full-time permanent position. Working hours are day shift, Monday through Friday. Start date by agreement. A probationary period may apply.
